Lightweight Rowing Earns Four Medals at Eastern Sprints
May 3, 2026 | Women's Lightweight Rowing
WORCESTER, Mass. – The Boston University women's lightweight rowing team raced to four medal finishes at the 2026 Eastern Sprints. The Terriers claimed two gold and two silver medals and earned an additional fourth-place finish at the regatta.
BU's Lightweight "B" Double of freshman Sidra Sanders (bow) and junior Chloe Capizzi (stroke) earned the Terriers' first medal of the day thanks to a substantial lead they took after the opening 500m.
The Lightweight 4 "B" secured BU's second medal of the day with a second-place finish in its race with a time of 7:31.529. The boat, coxed by freshman Amna Razvi and stroked by senior Nora Hemsley, battled with the first-place Wisconsin "A" boat throughout the race and fended off a late Princeton charge to earn the silver.
The Lightweight Double of juniors Emilia Vukasinovic (bow) and Catherine Clark (stroke) finished in 7:34.000 to take home a gold medal. The pair maintained an early lead the whole race and executed a strong charge in the final 250m to solidify its win ahead of Harvard-Radcliffe.
In the Lightweight 4 race, BU made a move after the midway point to breeze past Harvard-Radcliffe and MIT in the adjacent lanes to finish with a silver medal. The boat, coxed by juniors Lylah Nag and stroked by Cece Mason, finished in a time of 7:07.579
In the final race of the day, the Terrier Lightweight 8 raced to a fourth-place finish in the Grand Final. The crew overtook MIT in the second half of the race to battle to 6:33.855 to take fourth.
