WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Thanks to a 12-stroke improvement in the second round of a 36-hole day, the Boston University women's golf team sits in sixth place entering the final round of the William & Mary Invitational, held at Kingsmill Golf Club.

After a team score of 299 in the opening round, the Terriers shaved that down to 287 in the second, tying for the best score of the round with tournament leader James Madison and Old Dominion. BU is 12 strokes behind JMU for the lead entering Monday's final round.

Sophomore Flair Kuan shot 72-70--140 on Sunday and currently sits in fourth place overall. Senior Hanako Kawasaki had the best round-to-round improvement of anyone in the tournament, opening with a 78 before tying for the second-best second round with a 69 for a difference of nine strokes. She currently sits in a tie for 20th at 147.

Freshman Christy Chen (77-72) and junior Alice Fan (72-77) are tied for 28th at 149 while freshman Victoria Takai (78-76) and junior Monica Yu (82-76) are tied for 50th and 64th, respectively.
