Women's Golf Secures Third-Place Finish at BC Intercollegiate

CANTON, Mass. - Paced by strong efforts from senior Hanako Kawasaki and sophomore Flair Kuan, the Boston University women's golf team finished third out of 15 teams at the Boston College Intercollegiate, which wrapped up on Tuesday (Sept. 21) at Blue Hill County Club.
Kawasaki and Kuan finished tied for second in the individual standings, each shooting +4 over the three-round tournament. As a team, the Terriers finished +35 (899) to hold off fourth-place Penn State by four strokes. Yale claimed the team title with a +20 (884) while the host Eagles came in second with a +23 (887).
BU had two other finishers in the top 30 as freshman Christy Chen had three rounds of 76 for a +12, good for a tie for 22nd, and junior Alice Fan tied for 30th with a +15.
The Terriers will return to action next weekend at the Bryan National Intercollegiate down in Greensboro, N.C. The three-day tournament begins on Sunday (Sept. 26).
