Terriers Sit in Seventh After Day One of Bryan National Collegiate

BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. - Sophomore Flair Kuan shot a 2-under 70 in the opening round of the Bryan National Intercollegiate on Sunday to pace the Boston University women's golf team, which stands in seventh after day one.
The Terriers scored a 298, just seven strokes behind third-place Old Dominion. Campbell led the way on day one with a 280 while tournament co-host Wake Forest is second with a 285.
Kuan posted three birdies and a bogey during her round and sits in a tie fo sixth, three shots behind leader Emily Hawkins of Campbell. Freshman Victoria Takai, who is playing as an individual, shot a 3-over 75 and sits in a tie for 29th.
Senior Hanako Kawasaki, junior Alice Fan and freshman Christy Chen all shot a 4-over 76 while junior Monica Yu was two shots behind that group with a 78.
The tournament's second of three rounds will take place on Monday (Sept. 27).
