BOSTON – The Boston University women's soccer team will begin a two-game road stretch on Saturday when the Terriers travel to Annapolis, Maryland, to face Navy. Game time is set for 12 p.m.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU went 2-1-0 during its three-game homestand, including a hard-fought 1-0 loss to Colgate on Wednesday night.
- Freshman goalkeeper Celia Braun made a career-high five saves, all in the second half, against the Raiders.
- Junior Gretchen Bennett played the first half between the sticks and made two saves.
- Senior Jenna Oldham leads the Terriers in both assists (5) and points (9) while classmate Margaret Berry has tallied a team-best three goals.
- Oldham and senior Amy Thompson are the other two Terriers with two goals this season - both recorded multi-goal games during the aforementioned homestand, with Oldham's brace coming in the 2-1 win over New Hampshire on Sept. 12 while Thompson, the reigning Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week, scored twice in the win over Lafayette on Sept. 18.
- Braun and Bennett have split time in all 10 games this season with each keeper making five starts.
- Bennett has not allowed a goal in four of her last five appearances, including each of the last three games.
SCOUTING THE MIDS
- Navy improved to 5-4-1 with a 2-0 win at Loyola Maryland on Wednesday.
- The Mids are 1-1-0 in the Patriot League, as they opened with a 4-2 loss at Bucknell this past Saturday.
- Caitlin Doran leads Navy with five goals for a team-best 10 points.
- Chloe Dawson and Sadie McCaleb have each notched a team-high three assists.
- Mattie Gallagher has started all 10 games for Navy, posting a 4-4-1 record with two clean sheets.
SERIES HISTORY
- BU is 7-3-0 all-time against the Mids, though Navy won the last match, 1-0, in double overtime on Oct. 26, 2019.
- All three of Navy's wins have been in Annapolis.
- The teams have split the last four contests against each other, with BU earning a 1-0 win at Nickerson Field on Oct. 5, 2018.
- Three of the last four meetings have finished 1-0.
