Men's Tennis Faces Competition from Dartmouth in Fall Opener

BOSTON – Facing its first competition of the 2021-22 season, the Boston University men's tennis team opened the fall schedule with both singles and doubles matches against Dartmouth on Saturday afternoon at MIT.
The Terriers competed in six singles contests and three doubles matches. There was no team scoring.
Freshman Ben Letzer led BU in singles by rallying from a set down to claim a 4-6, 7-5, 10-4 victory over Logan Chang. BU combined for 37 games won in singles after totaling 25 back on Feb. 1, 2020 against the Big Green.
Freshman Dion Loutas was a tiebreaker away from winning a set in a 7-6, 6-1 loss to Alejandro Quiles, who was the No. 20 national recruit in 2019. Freshman Cole Knutsen matched Loutas with seven games in a 7-5, 6-2 defeat to Alex Knox-Jones of England.
During doubles, Kutsen and sophomore Johann Sajonz battled Dartmouth to the end before being broken late in a 7-5 loss.
BU will next participate in the Merrimack Invitational on Oct. 2-3.
