
Freshmen Highlight Final Weekend of Regular Season

BOSTON – The Boston University men's cross country team competed in the Panorama Farms XC Invitational at Virginia and the Suffolk Invitational at Franklin Park on Saturday. The men placed 12-of-17 at Virginia and 1-of-22 at Suffolk.
Panorama Farms XC Invitational
The Terriers scored 348 points in the 8K, over 100 points ahead of local rival Boston College. In a race with multiple power-five competitors, Wake Forest won the race with 47 points.
BU was led by freshman Freddy Collins who placed 51st in a field of 176 runners with a time of 24:18.7. The second Terrier to cross the finish line was freshman Parker Schneider (24:32.0) in 72nd. BU's scorers were rounded out by junior Matthew Mason (24:44.6), grad student Aksel Laudon (24:55.7), senior Mike Hagen (25:13.7), grad student Marcel Aubry (25:18.0) and senior Foster Malleck (25:32.5). Also racing for BU were senior Charlie Hammel (25:38.4) and freshman Jacob Connolly (26:30.8)
Suffolk Invitational
BU ran to a first place finish in the 8K at the Suffolk Invitational with a team score of 17 points, outscoring second-place Plymouth State by 65 points. All seven of BU's scoring runners placed in the top-15
Freshman Moritz Ebbeskotte took first place with a time of 25:33.6. He was followed by three upperclassmen to round out the top four spots in the race: senior Kevin Murphy (25:34.8) in second, senior Alec Block (25:37.6) in third and junior Alex Brown (25:39.7) in fourth. Also scoring for the Terriers were junior Spencer Twyman (26:18.7) in eighth, freshman Tucker Bowerfind (26:23.1) in ninth and senior Kathan Shenoy (26:30.8) in 11th.
In addition to those who scored, the following runners competed for BU: senior Andrew Trapp (26:57.2), junior Will Loggia (27:36.1), freshman Glenn Bell (27:44.7), and junior Nate Somers (28:48.0).
Up Next
The Terriers will enter the postseason later this month with the Patriot League Championship on Oct. 29. The championship will take place at Bucknell.
