
Men’s Cross Country Takes Third at Patriot League Championships

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Boston University men's cross country team finished third at the 2022 Patriot League Championships on Saturday. All five of BU's scorers placed in the top-25 runners in the men's 8K race.
The Terriers finished 18 points behind Army West Point as Navy took the title with 32 points. This marks the second consecutive season that Navy has swept the men's and women's titles.
First to finish for BU was junior Matthew Mason who ran a 25:03.9 to place seventh. Senior Foster Malleck finished moments later in ninth with a time of 25:05.5. The next two scorers for BU were freshmen Freddy Collins (25:09.4) and Parker Schneider (25:21.7) in 13th and 18th place, respectively. Capping off the Terriers' scoring was grad student Aksel Laudon (25:24.0) in 21st.
Also running in the event were returners senior Kevin Murphy (25:38.3) and grad student Marcel Aubry (25:41.5). A pair of freshmen were next to finish in Moritz Ebbeskotte (25:47.0) and Jacob Connolly (25:55.5). Three seniors rounded out the competitors for BU: Alec Block (26:09.5), Mike Hagen (26:16.1) and Charlie Hammel (26:48.7).
The Terriers will be back in action on Nov. 11 when they head to Van Cortland Park, N.Y. for the NCAA Regional Championships.
