BOSTON - The Boston University field hockey team will wrap up its regular-season home schedule on Tuesday (Oct. 18) when it hosts No. 23 Maine, one of the hottest teams in the country.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- BUÂ had a three-game win streak snapped on Saturday in a 2-0 road loss to Lafayette.
- It marked the Terriers'Â first Patriot League loss of the season but they still have a half-game lead over Bucknell for first place.
- Junior Tess Csejka has team highs in points (15) and goals (7) while sophomore Payton Anderson is second in both categories with nine points and four tallies.
- In all, 11 Terriers have recorded at least one point this season and nine of them have scored at least one goal.
- BU averages 13.0 shots per game while allowing an average of 11.1.
- In goal, senior Caroline Kelly has started all 14 games in goals and has played the entirety of the past six contests.
- Kelly currently has a .766 save percentage and a 1.78 goals-against average.
SCOUTING MAINE
- The Black Bears are alone at the top of the America East standings at 5-0, a full two games ahead of three teams tied for second place.
- Maine's current 10-game win streak is the second-longest in the nation this season, trailing only North Carolina, which is the lone undefeated team at 12-0.
- Most recently, Maine posted a 6-3 win over Bryant on Friday.
- Junior Poppy Lambert leads all America East players in goals with 16 and her 36Â points are tied for the league lead.
- Freshman Mallory Mackesy is second on the squad in both points (21) and goals (9) while fifth-year Chloe Walton has added 20 points (8g, 4a).Â
- Fifth-year netminder Mia Borley has started all but one contest and sports an .807 save percentage and a 1.32 goals-against average.
- This is Maine's non-conference finale as it will end the regular season with league home games against Vermont, Stanford and UC Davis.
SERIES HISTORY
- BU is 30-9 all-time against the Black Bears but Maine has won the past three meetings, including a 3-2 contest at New Balance Field last season.
