Women's Ice Hockey Treks North for Weekend Series at No. 13 Vermont

The Boston University women's ice hockey team heads north for a weekend series at No. 13 Vermont on Nov. 11-12. Game time on both days is 2 p.m.

TERRIER TIDBITS

  • The Terriers are coming off losses on both ends of a home-and-home with No. 12 Providence.
  • Junior forward Catherine Foulem had a goal in each contest.
  • Senior Julia Nearis ranks first on the Terriers in points (8) and goals (4) and has four assists while junior Lacey Martin has seven points, including a team-best six assists.
  • Graduate student Jesse DeVito has tallied six points on the strength of five assists.
  • Freshman Clara Yuhn (3g, 2a), sophomore Christina Vote (1g, 4a) and Foulem (2g, 3a) all have five points on the year.
  • Graduate student Andrea Brändli ranks 15th in the nation in save percentage (.958) and 18th in goals-against average (1.99).

SCOUTING THE CATAMOUNTS

  • Vermont is coming off a weekend sweep at Maine as they outscored the Black Bears 13-3 over the two games en route to six points.
  • The Catamounts are 4-1-1 at home thus far this season with lone coming in overtime.
  • Graduate student Theresa Schafzahl, the reigning Hockey East Player of the Year, leads the league in goals with 10 and has added six assists for a team-best 16 points.
  • Junior Natalie Mlynkova is right behind with 15 points on eight goals and seven assists while graduate student Corinee McCool has 12 points on the strength of a team-best eight assists.
  • Junior Jessie McPherson has started all 12 games in goal and sports a 1.68 goals-against average to go along with a .902 save percentage.

BU-VERMONT SERIES HISTORY 

  • The Terriers are 37-10-8 all-time against the Catamounts, including a 17-6-2 record at Gutterson Fieldhouse.
  • BU has taken six of the last nine meetings with the Catamounts and is 7-2-2 in its past 11 games against Vermont.

UP NEXT

  • After this weekend, the Terriers will wrap up their stretch of 12 straight Hockey East contests with a home-and-home series with UConn.
  • The series kicks off in Storrs on Friday, Nov. 18.
