HOW IT HAPPENED
- BU appeared to have the upper hand in the game's early stages but were unable to capitalize.
- Both teams stayed out of the penalty box in the first period and the teams headed into the first intermission scoreless.
- Maine opened the scoring on its first power-play chance of the evening as Lilli Welcke found the back of the net off assists from Mira Seregely and her twin sister, Luisa Welcke, at 3:34 of the middle period.
- The Black Bears doubled their lead nine minutes later when Mira Seregely won a puck battle in front of her bench and then found Alyssas Wrubel, who converted from the right circle at the 12:19 mark of the second.
- Towards the end of the second, BU handed Maine a 5-on-3 power play that lasted for 1:28 but the Terriers were able to get back to full strength and stay within striking distance.
- The Terriers held a 10-7 shot advantage in the final period and had two power-play chances but Maine goaltender Brooklyn Oakes stopped everything she saw to complete a 19-save shutout.
- Lilli Welcke capped a two-goal night with an empty-netter in the closing seconds.
