
MIT Fends Off Men's Tennis, 6-3

The Engineers (1-0) won two of the three doubles matches to grab a 2-0 lead and then fended off the Terriers (0-3) for four singles points with two being decided in three sets.
Sophomore Johann Sajonz and freshman Adrian Pawlowski earned BU's first point with a 6-3 win in the top doubles slot, but MIT won the other two by the exact same score to pull ahead early.
Both sophomores Jonah Dickson and Ben Letzer remained perfect in 2022 singles action at 3-0 apiece. Dickson dispatched Daniel Antov, 7-6, 7-5, in the No. 2 slot, while Letzer was ahead a set, 6-2, when his opponent retired at line 4.
Freshman Dion Loutas rallied from a set down to force a third in the top slot, but Derek Shen eventually prevailed, 7-6, 4-6, 6-3. Pawlowski won the other set at line 6 before dropping the super tie breaker in a 6-4, 5-7, 10-5 loss. MIT won in straight sets at lines 3 and 5 for the three-point win.
The Terriers will next visit Brown on Saturday (Feb. 12) with a 10 a.m. start time. Fans will be able to watch the matches by clicking here.
