
Terriers Earn Three Medals on Day Three of PL Championships

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Boston University women's swimming & diving team remained in fourth place after day three of the Patriot League Championships.
The Terriers maintained their spot on the leaderboard with one day of competition remaining. They have 288 points, well clear of fifth-place Lehigh (155). Navy (631.5), Bucknell (399.5) and Army West Point (380) own the top three spots.
BU shined in the 100 backstroke on Friday, taking two of the three podium spots. Senior Sezin Eligul swam the final in 54.23 seconds to finish second, with sophomore Lara Mitchell right behind her in third at 54.79. Sophomore Sydney Sorbello finished second in the B final to give the Terriers another seven points in that event.
Eligul and Sorbello also helped the Terriers earn a place on the podium with a third-place finish in the 200 free relay. That duo, along with senior Francesca Leung and sophomore Madison Kim, combined for a time of 1:32.96, just 0.26 seconds back of the second-place squad.
Freshman Ella Erickson secured seventh in the 400 IM with a time of 4:25.95, with senior Joanna McNulty (4:32.12) also earning points in that event. Two Terriers tallied points in the 200 free, as Leung (1:52.53) and junior Grace Lange (1:55.37) were 13th and 14th, respectively.
Freshman Stephanie Liu won the B final of the 100 breast with a time of 1:04.13. Sophomore Clarissa Hoyt (1:04.46) and freshman Ashley Scafetta (1:05.95) also produced points in that event, with Hoyt also picking up points in the 100 fly (56.68).
BU will conclude the 2022 Patriot League Championships tomorrow, with prelims to start at 10 a.m., followed by finals at 6 p.m. Fans can watch all of the action on ESPN+ as well as track live results on the Meet Mobile app.
