ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Senior Sezin Eligul broke her own school record in the 100 freestyle during a second-place finish and sophomore Lara Mitchell also reached the podium in the 200 backstroke with a school-record performance as the Boston University women's swimming & diving team finished in fourth place at the Patriot League Championships at Lejeune Pool on Saturday.

BU finished in fourth place, their best effort since 2017. The Terriers totaled 471 points, 99 behind third-place Army West Point and 213 ahead of fifth-place Lehigh.

Mitchell swam the 200 backstroke in 1:58.81, breaking the school mark of 1:59.45 set by Katie Radin in 2013.

Eligul began the year tied for the school record in the 100 freestyle and she has topped that time on three occasions. She set the record outright at 50.20 back in November and then went under 50 seconds in Saturday's prelims at 49.98. In the final, she broke it again, setting a new standard of 49.90.

The Terriers' 400 freestyle relay earned a medal with a third-place finish as senior Francesca Leung, sophomore Sydney Sorbello, sophomore Madison Kim and Eligul turned in a time of 3:22.72.

Four Terriers earned points in the 3-meter diving event with sophomore Sumi Cameron leading the way in fourth with 278.45 points. Seniors Emily Balicanta (268.15) and Kate Russack (257.70) finished 7-8 and freshman Sophia Souza was ninth after winning the B final, improving her prelim score by nearly 37 points (283.35).

Sophomore Ellie Graves was another strong performer on Saturday, taking fifth in the 1650 freestyle (17:01.73). Senior Joanna McNulty (17:22.78) and sophomore Anastasia Belyakov (17:24.59) were 12th and 13th in the event.

Alex Pastushan was the top freshman swimmer for the Terriers at the meet, earning 13 points for a sixth-place finish in the 200 backstroke (2:00.90). Sorbello won the B final in the event, finishing 9th overall in a time of 2:01.07.

Kim was seventh in the 100 freestyle (51.53) and senior Leung was 12th (51.66).

With a time of 2:20.64, sophomore Clarissa Hoyt was the Terriers' top finisher in the 200 breaststroke, placing 11th, and freshman Stephanie Liu was right behind in 13th (2:22.21).
