MANCHESTER, Mass. – The Boston University women's tennis team opened the weekend against the Ivy League with a 4-3 win over Brown on Saturday afternoon at the Manchester Athletic Club.
The Terriers (5-6) swept through doubles and won three of the six singles matches, as the Bears (6-7) saw their three-match win streak snapped.

Shelly Yaloz won both of her matches to reach the 100-win milestone. Sophomore
Victoria Carlsten and freshman
Sydney Sharma also won both of their matches with Carlsten clinching the team victory with a three-set rally in the top singles slot.
BU started off winning all three doubles matches by a combined score of 18-7. In singles, Sharma dropped the fewest games, cruising to a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 6 singles. Yaloz also won in straight sets with a 7-5, 6-3 decision at line 4.
Brown won a tiebreaker in the first set of both singles matches in the No. 3 and 5 slots en route to a pair of points. The Bears tied the match by rallying from a set down for a 0-6, 6-2, 6-2 win at line 2.
Carlsten though sealed the victory for BU by conducting her own rally for the 6-7, 6-2, 6-3 win in the top singles match against Brown's Britany Lau.
BU will next make the short trek to Harvard to face Cornell on Sunday (March 20) at 10 a.m.
