Women's Rowing Heads South for Lake Wheeler Invitational

BOSTON – Competing away from the Charles River for the first time this season, the Boston University women's rowing team will head south for the Lake Wheeler Invitational in Raleigh, North Carolina, with UNC and Duke serving as co-hosts of the two-day event.
There will be three rounds of racing with two take placing Friday afternoon and a third Saturday morning on Lake Wheeler. Featuring two varsity eight boats and a varsity four boat, the Terriers will face crews from No. 9 Penn, No. 11 Duke, No. 15 Syracuse, Georgetown, Kansas, North Carolina, Louisville, Boston College and Temple. BU will also have its first good look at defending Patriot League champion Navy, who received the second most votes outside the this week's Pocock CRCA Top-20 Poll with the Terriers one of 12 unranked schools to receive at least one vote.
BU most recently won the V8, 2V8 and V4 races against both Northeastern and Rhode Island while reclaiming the Council Cup. The Terriers previously defeated BC, MIT and Eastern Michigan in both the V8 and 2V8 to start the spring schedule.
