
BU Tops Regional Leaders at Battle in Beantown

BOSTON – Boston University men's cross country ran to a sixth-place finish in the 8K at the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown on Friday at Franklin Park.
BU notched a score of 185 in a field of 15 teams from across the nation. Notably, BU finished ahead of Harvard and Syracuse who are the top two teams in the Northeast region according to the USTFCCCA. Virginia won the event with 20 points.
In the 8K, senior Mike Hagen (24:53) led the Terriers with a 27th-place finish followed by freshmen Parker Schneider (24:59) in 33rd and Freddy Collins (25:08) in 43rd. Next in for BU were returners Marcel Aubry (25:09) in 44th and Charlie Hammel (25:14) in 49th to cap off the top-five performances. Also racing were freshman Moritz Ebbeskotte (25:18) in 53rd, senior Alec Block (25:22) in 56th and freshman Jacob Connolly (26:21.6)in 104th.
In the 5K combined open race, graduate student Aksel Laudon highlighted the event for the Terriers with a first-place finish with a time of 15:32. Freshmen Tucker Bowerfind (15:47) and Glenn Bell (15:59) were next in sixth and 14th, respectively. Four returners rounded out BU's appearance in the event: Kathan Shenoy (16:16) in 25th, Andrew Trapp (16:40) in 41st, Spencer Twyman (16:57) in 47th and Will Loggia (17:32) in 55th.
The Terriers will be back in action next weekend at the Paul Short Invite hosted by Lehigh on Friday, Sept. 30.
