Terriers Record 19 Personal Best Times at Paul Short Invite

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Boston University men's cross country team ran to a top-20 finish at the Lehigh Paul Short Invite on Friday. 

In the men's gold 8K, BU placed 19th out of 46 teams with 530 points. Each Terrier in the race recorded a personal best time in the field of 416 runners.

Junior Matthew Mason led the Terriers in the 8K with a 24:03.9 good for 102nd place. Patriot League Rookie of the Week freshman Parker Schneider crossed the finish line next for BU with a 24:04.9 and was followed by senior Foster Malleck with a 24:08.1. The final two to in the scoring five for BU were freshman Freddy Collins (24:11.2) and grad student Marcel Aubry (24.16.7). Also racing in the main event were freshman Jacob Connolly (24:28.1), senior Mike Hagen (24:47.0), senior Charlie Hammel (24:49.6), senior Alec Block (24:53.2) and freshman Moritz Ebbeskotte (24:56.7).

BU had ten runners in the men's open 8K race. Grad student Aksel Laudon led the Terriers with a 13th-place finish for a personal best time of 24:28.9. Next in for BU was freshman Glenn Bell (24:52.6 - PB) in 44th followed by junior Alex Brown (24:55.7 - PB) in 48th. Crossing the finish line next for the Terriers was senior Kevin Murphy (25:08.5) shortly followed by senior Spencer Twyman (25:12.3 - PB). Freshman Caiden Lee (25:26.9 - PB), senior Kathan Shenoy (25:31.9 - PB), senior Andrew Trapp (25:47.7 - PB), junior Will Loggia (26:22.6 - PB) and junior Nate Somers (27:11.7 - PB) also competed.

The Terriers will be back in action with a pair of meets on Oct. 15 with the Virginia XC Invite and the Suffolk Invitational.
