BOSTON - The Boston University women's ice hockey team returns to Hockey East play with a trip north to face Maine on Saturday (Oct. 28). Game time at Alfond Arena is set for 5 p.m.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- The Terriers posted a tie and win at home last weekend against Syracuse, skating to a 4-4 draw in Friday's opener before closing with a 6-1 victory on Saturday.
- Graduate student Nadia Mattivi was named the Army ROTC Hockey East Defender of the Week after tallying a goal and three assists in the Syracuse series.
- Sophomore Sydney Healey, who also had four points (2g, 2a) against the Orange, has a team-best five points on the season on two goals and three assists.
- Mattivi and sophomore Clara Yuhn (4a) each have four points through four games.
- The Terriers have 11 goals thus far and they have been scored by eight different players.
- BU has a league-best 54.6 faceoff percentage this season.
- Freshman goaltender Mari Pietersen has started three games and currently has an .862 save percentage and a 2.60 goals-against average.
SCOUTING THE BLACK BEARS
- Maine is coming off a split at Providence last weekend as the Black Bears opened with a 4-3 win before dropping a 3-2 contest.
- The Black Bears' other two wins this season came in a weekend sweep at Stonehill.
- Maine leads the nation in shorthanded goals with five.
- Fifth-year forward Ida Kuoppala has team highs in points (11) and goals (7).
- Senior Rahel Enzler has put up eight points on a goal and a team-best seven assists.
- Maine's three goaltenders have split time through the first month of the season and senior Jorden Mattison leads the way in save percentage (.933) and goals-against average (1.53).
SERIES HISTORY VS. MAINE
- BU is 32-21-4 (.596) all-time against Maine, including a 15-10-1 record (.596) at Alfond Arena.
- The Black Bears swept a weekend series in Boston last December before the teams skated to a tie on Jan. 20 before the Terriers took the shootout point.
- Nine of the past 11 meetings have taken place at Walter Brown Arena.
UP NEXT
- The Terriers will take on Merrimack in a home-and-home series next weekend.
- BU will visit the Warriors on Friday (Nov. 3) before hosting them on Saturday (Nov. 4).
