HOW IT HAPPENED
- BU had the better chances in the early stages but found itself on the penalty kill 8:37 into the first.
- The Terriers used it to their advantage, however, as sophomores Maeve Kelly and Luisa Welcke go the puck up to Foulem, who found the top right corner of the goal on a shorthanded chance to open the scoring.
- BU kept the momentum as senior Lacey Martin set up Foulem in the inner left circle and her shot produced a rebound that Vote cleaned up at the top of the crease to extend the lead to 2-0 at the 16:13 mark.
- Just 27 seconds later the Welcke twins set up Huntley for her first collegiate goal as the freshman sent a shot from the top of the left circle that went off RMU netminder Emma Gorski and trickled in at 16:40 to close out the scoring in the first period.
- The Terriers went on the power play three times in the second frame but could not add to their lead.
- A BU penalty late in the second resulted in a RMU power-play goal by Shailynn Snow.
- The Colonials pulled their goalie to add an extra skater late in the third period but could not cut into BU's 3-1 lead.
