Men's Tennis Wraps Fall Slate at Yale Invitational
November 5, 2023 | Men's Tennis
BOSTON – Sophomores Alejandro Licea and Corey Craig wrapped up the fall schedule for the Boston University men's tennis team by competing over the weekend at the Yale Invitational.
The duo faced opponents from Brown, NJIT, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth and the host Bulldogs in singles and doubles play.
Licea ended the event with a hard-fought 6-4, 5-7, 7-5 victory over Brown's Brian Chong following a tightly-contested 7-5, 7-5, loss to the Bears' Oliver Worth. Licea also teamed with Craig for a pair of victories, first dispatching a Cornell duo, 6-3, and lastly cruising to a 6-0 victory over the Bears.
Craig took on a pair of former top-20 high school recruits. He came up just short in forcing a third set against Yale's Vignesh Gogineni, a USA Today High School Tennis Athlete of the Year finalist, in a 6-1, 7-5, decision and fell in his final contest to Columbia's Theo Winegar, 6-4, 6-0.
The Terriers will next open the dual season in January.
