200 Medley Relay Breaks School Record on Opening Night of PL Championships

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Boston University men's swimming & diving team kicked off the 2023 Patriot League Championships on Wednesday by breaking the school record in the 200-yard medley relay at Bucknell's Kinney Natatorium.
Senior Jacob Lindner (backstroke), senior Kyle Falkstrom (breaststroke), junior Justin Lee (butterfly) and senior Ethan Thomas (freestyle) posted a 1:28:45, shaving nearly a half-second off the previous mark of 1:28.91 set back in 2011 by Bryon Kallert, Kyle Ernst, Matt Rickett and Daniel Kempf.
The Terriers finished fifth in the race, accumulating 28 points, while the 800-yard freestyle relay placed sixth as freshman Tony Ponomarev, junior Jackson Olin, senior Sarsen Whatmore and Falkstrom recorded a time of 6:37.49.
Day two of the PL Championships will start with preliminaries at 10 a.m. on Thursday (Feb. 16).
