Men's Tennis Drops 6-1 Decision at Dartmouth

HANOVER, N.H. – Wrapping up a three-match weekend, the Boston University men's tennis team fell at Dartmouth, 6-1, at Texas Country on Sunday evening.

The Big Green (9-3) won a tightly-contested doubles point and then captured five singles points in straight sets to drop the Terriers (6-6) to .500 on the season.

In doubles, freshman Alejandro Licea and sophomore Dion Loutas won the top match, 6-3, after the Big Green claimed a 6-2 victory at line 3. In the deciding match for the first point, junior Johann Sajonz and sophomore Adrian Pawlowski were broken late in a hard-fought 7-5 loss in the No. 2 slot.

In singles, freshman Corey Craig led BU with a 6-4, 7-5 victory at line 2. Sophomore Cole Knutsen tried to mount a rally to force a third set but came up just short in a No. 4 tiebreaker, 6-3, 7-6(11). Licea also won nine games in a tough battle in the No. 3 match, 6-4, 7-5.

The Terriers will next come home to the Track & Tennis Center to host Bentley on Thursday (March 2) with a 2:30 p.m. start.
