Terriers Place Seventh at Kingsmill Intercollegiate

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Boston University women's golf team moved up four spots on the final day of the Kingsmill Intercollegiate to finish seventh in the 19-team tournament at the Kingsmill Resort River Course on Tuesday.
The Terriers shot a 313 in Monday's opening round and then a 312 in the second round, which began on Monday and wrapped up Tuesday morning due to darkness. On Tuesday, BU posted another 312 to finish at 937 (+73), two strokes ahead of tournament host William & Mary and five strokes behind sixth-place St. John's.
All five Terriers placed in the top 50 with sophomore Christy Chen leading the way, finishing tied for 20th at plus-16 (79-77-76--232). Senior Alice Fan shot a 77-78-80--235 (+19) to finish in a tie for 28th.
Freshman Annika Manjunath was the biggest mover of the day, as birdied five of her first 11 holes in the final round and finished with a 76, topping her previous collegiate best by a stroke. She moved up 27 spots to tied for 35th at plus-21 (83-78-76--237), matching senior teammate Kristen Min Ju Kim who recorded a 78-79-80--237.
Junior Flair Kuan shot a 79 in each of the first two rounds before finishing with an 80 for a total of 240 (+24), which placed her tied for 48th.
The Terriers will return to action on April 8-9 whey they participate in the Harvard Invitational, held at The Oaks Club in Osprey, Fla.
