Women's Rowing Closes Out Lake Wheeler Invite

LAKE WHEELER, N.C. – The Boston University women's rowing program wrapped up its time at the Lake Wheeler Invite with three races on Saturday (April 22) at Lake Wheeler Park.
All three entries totaled fourth-place finishes in Round 3, and recorded five combined top-three performances in the two-day regatta. As a team, BU recorded 18 points, ranking 11th out of 18 programs.
The Varsity 8 started the day after racing was moved up due to the potential for inclement weather. The Terriers, coxed by Trisha Jaggi and stroked by Sofia Suhinin, crossed the finish line in 6:48.471 to place fourth in the third heat. BU edged out Louisville in fifth and Kansas in sixth.
In the Second Varsity 8, the Terriers, coxed by Audrey Lucerne and stroked by Tiare Hicks, also finished fourth in the third heat, with a time of 7:04.129. BU outraced the Cardinals' and Jayhawks' crews in the heat as well.
BU's Varsity 4, coxed by Kennedy Walker and stroked by Luisa Reussner, closed out the regatta in the third heat. The Terriers clocked in at 8:03.737 to best Kansas for a fourth-place result, while also finishing ahead of Louisville's boat.
In the final race before the 2023 Patriot League Championship in May, the Terriers travel west to Lake Quinsigamond for the 2023 Eastern Sprints on Sunday (April 30).
