REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – The Boston University men's rowing program completed the first day of racing in the Pac-12 Challenge at Redwood Shores on Saturday (April 8). BU's First and Second Varsity 8 crews battled the Cardinal during the morning session, and closed the day against the Golden Bears.

The Terriers 11th-ranked V8, coxed by Peter Adams and stroked by Paul Seiters, posted a time of 5:47.3, trailing No. 13 Stanford's 5:40.1. Against top-ranked Cal, BU crossed the finish line in 5:48.9, compared to the Golden Bears' 5:34.7.

Meanwhile, BU's 2V8, coxed by Emily Slawin and stroked by Gabriel Stekl, completed the course in 5:54.9 against Stanford, narrowly falling to the 5:52.7 time from the Cardinal. In its second race vs. Cal, the boat finished with a time of 5:53.1, while the Golden Bears recorded a time of 5:43.8.

BU wraps up the Pac-12 Challenge on Sunday (April 9) when it takes on Wisconsin.
