BU Athletics Posts 3.38 Department GPA in Spring 2023

BOSTON – The student-athletes of the Boston University Department of Athletics continued to excel in the classroom during the Spring 2023 semester, posting a 3.38 department grade-point average. It marked the 13th straight semester that BU student-athletes combined for a GPA of 3.2 or higher.
All 24 varsity programs earned a GPA 3.0 or above with women's soccer leading the way at 3.74. Women's ice hockey had the largest improvement from the fall, raising its average by 0.23. After posting a 3.33 department GPA in the fall, BU student-athletes combined for a 3.35 GPA for the 2022-23 academic year, which the highest ever (excluding remote learning).
Over 82 percent of the student-athlete body had a GPA of 3.0 or above for the semester. Additionally, 51 student-athletes finished with a perfect 4.0 GPA during the fall.
