AMESBURY, Mass. – Senior Lacey Martin and graduate student Nadia Mattivi were named the Hockey East Player and Army ROTC Defender of the Week, respectively, the Hockey East announced Monday.
In BU's three-game week, Martin scored a goal in all three of BU's contests. Her third period goal against No. 13 Boston College helped BU keep a lead through most of regulation in the Beanpot semifinal game. Martin scored BU's fifth goal in Friday's game against Vermont and the game winner in Saturday's tilt with the Catamounts to help BU to six points in the Hockey East standings. The Minnetonka, Minn., native leads the Terriers in goals with 12 and points with 21.
Mattivi picked up three points in the series against Vermont with a goal and two assists. She assisted on BU's third and fourth goals on Friday, the first of which came on the power play. The grad student scored an empty-netter on Saturday to solidify BU's 4-2 win and weekend sweep over the Catamounts. Mattivi was integral in BU's defense in the series, holding Vermont to under 20 shots on net in both games.
BU will play for the Beanpot Championship at TD Garden on Tuesday. Puck drop against Northeastern is set for 8 p.m.
