Molly Rottinghaus (COM'22) - Field Hockey

- Patriot League Academic Honor Roll honoree and a member of Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Bloom Family Leadership Academy and Terriers Together Mentorship Program
- Served as an NCAA postgrad intern for championships operations
- Currently works with the Wisconsin football program as an assistant to the head coach
Q&A With Molly
- Why did you choose BU? "During my first visit to BU, I instantly fell in love with the city. I saw endless opportunities for growth academically and athletically on a campus enriched with top professors and dedicated coaches and administrators. While it was a challenge to move away from my hometown in Pittsburgh, I found support in an athletic department that values excellence on and off the field."
- What did you enjoy most about your BU experience? "With campus placed perfectly in the middle of the city, I loved being in the midst of so many colleges and sports teams. Being surrounded by so many different cultures and environments led to experiences where I could grow personally. Boston is a city never short of fun – from biking along the Charles River, to Red Sox Games or a pizza in the North End, Boston is a city full of life and adventure."
- How did your time at BU prepare you to get to where you are today? "The academic demands matched by the rigorous schedule of a student-athlete at BU prepared me for all future endeavors. I am grateful for the administrative guidance within BU's athletic department, especially from Drew Marrochello, who supported me as I navigated to reach my goal to work in collegiate athletics beyond graduation. My head coach, Sally Starr, leads by example through the value she finds in relationships with her athletes by establishing an infectious team culture. This support system and these experiences made my passion to work in sports even stronger during my time at BU!"
- Why is it meaningful for you to be involved with the University, Athletics, and your team as an alumnus? "I am forever grateful for the support from my BUFHA teammates, athletic department, and professors during my time at BU and beyond. I am so thankful that my younger sister, Ella, and I played field hockey together at BU. Being college teammates with my sister is a special bond we will forever share! I will always be Proud to BU!"
