TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU swept the weekend series against Maine with 2-1 and 2-0 wins at home, respectively.
- Four different Terriers scored in the wins: freshman Lola Reid and junior Lilli Welcke scored in the first game while junior Sydney Healey and graduate student Tamara Giaquinto found the back of the net in the second.
- Giaquinto's power play goal was BU's first since the Merrimack season opener.
- Graduate student Julia Shaunessy, juniors Luisa Welcke and Riley Walsh, sophomore Alex Law and Reid all recorded assists in the series, Law's being her first of the season.
- BU went 4-for-4 on penalty kills and only entered the box once in the 2-0 shutout.
- BU is seventh in the NCAA and third in Hockey East in penalty killing percentage (.913).
- The last time BU gave up a power play goal was in the 1-0 loss to Minnesota on 10.4.
- Reid was tabbed the Hockey East Rookie of the Week (10.21) after recording three points (1G, 2A) in the series against Maine. She is currently on a three-game point streak.
- Senior Callie Shanahan earned her fifth career shutout and second of the season in the 2-0 win over the Black Bears.
- Shanahan is seventh in the NCAA and leads Hockey East in save percentage (0.959). She also leads Hockey East in GAA (1.072).
- Li. Welcke is ranked 25th in the NCAA and fifth in Hockey East in faceoff wins with 67.
- Giaquinto continues to lead BU in blocks with 13. She is also fourth in the NCAA and first in the league in power play goals with three.
SERIES HISTORY
- BU is 1-0-2 overall against Syracuse.
- The Terriers have never visited the Orange at the Tennity Ice Pavillion.
- The teams first met in Pittsburgh on Jan. 1, 2022 and tied 3-3 in overtime.
- Most recently, BU defeated Syracuse at home on Oct. 21, 2023 in a 6-1 decision.
- In the other meeting at Walter Brown (Oct. 20, 2023), the Terriers the Orange tied 4-4.
SCOUTING SYRACUSE
- Syracuse is 2-5-0 overall and 2-1-0 at home.
- It most recently lost to No. 10 Quinnipiac, 4-1.
- Syracuse's two wins came over Stonehill, both in a 4-0 outcome.
- The Orange have not won a game since Oct. 5.
- Tatum White is ranked 20th in the NCAA in faceoff wins with 70.
- Syracuse has only been shut out once this season.
