STORRS, Conn. - The Boston University women's ice hockey fell at No. 11 UConn, 1-0, in the regular-season finale on Saturday afternoon at Toscano Family Ice Forum.
UConn scored on the power play early in the second before holding off the Terriers down the stretch as BU held a 16-3 shot advantage in the final period but came up empty of all five of its power-play opportunities in the contest.
Junior Callie Shanahan turned in a 22-save performance for BU, which moved to 14-17-3 and finished its Hockey East schedule with a 12-14-1 mark.
The Terriers will be the No. 7 seed for the Hockey East tournament and will host 10th-seeded Holy Cross in the opening round on Wednesday (Feb. 28) at 6 p.m.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a scoreless back-and-forth first period, the Terriers took a penalty just over a minute into the second and the home team scored on the ensuing power play.
- Camryn Wong took a cross-slot pass and converted from the foot of the right circle just 23 seconds into the power play for what would be the game's lone goal.
- Shanahan came up with several impressive stops throughout the remainder of the game to keep the Terriers in the contest.
- UConn committed a penalty in the final minute of the third and Wong got called for body-checking twice in the final nine minutes of regulation but the Huskies' penalty kill was up to the task each time.
- BU dominated play in the third period in search of an equalizer but UConn netminder Tia Chan stopped every chance en route to a 32-save shutout.
GAME NOTES
- BU held a 32-23 shot advantage for the game.
- The Huskies went 1-for-2 on the power play.
- Sophomore Lilli Welcke won 12 of 16 faceoffs.
- Senior Lacey Martin finished the regular season as the Terriers' leader in points (27) and goals (14) while graduate student Nadia Mattivi is the team leader in assists (14).

- The postseason begins on Wednesday (Feb. 28) when the Terriers host Holy Cross in the Hockey East Opening Round.
- Game time at Walter Brown Arena is set for 6 p.m.
