No. 13 Men’s Rowing Ships Up To Vermont For Lake Morey Invite

BOSTON – Fresh off its sweep from the previous weekend, the 13th-ranked Boston University men's rowing program travels to Fairlee, Vt. for the annual Lake Morey Invite, taking place from April 27-28.
BU will square off against four programs: No. 7 Syracuse, No. 10 Dartmouth, No. 15 Wisconsin, and No. 19 Georgetown. The Terriers will race the Orange, Big Green, and Badgers in pursuit of the Conlan, Bill, and Jablonic Cups, respectively. Saturday (April 27) will feature two sessions, while Sunday (April 28) will host one final morning session.
The Terriers remained in 13th in the IRCA/IRA Men's Heavyweight Varsity 8+ Poll in Week 3, garnering 158 points. BU sits directly behind Stanford and ahead of Cornell.
Last Saturday (April 20), the Terriers won all four races against No. 20 Holy Cross, No. 23 Temple, RV Hobart, and Marist on Lake Quinsigamond. The Varsity 8+ and Second Varsity 8+ crossed the finish line in under six minutes at 5:56.3 and 5:59.23, respectively. The Third Varsity 8+ was victorious with a time of 6:07.0, while BU's nearly 30-second differential in the Fourth Varsity 8+ (6:14.4) over runner-up Holy Cross was the largest gap of the day.
At the 2023 edition of the Lake Morey Invite, BU's top-three eights were victorious over the Hoyas' V8 and 2V8. The Terrier Varsity 8+ finished in a time of 5:54.73.
Having competed in the Bill Cup since 1937 and the Conlan Cup since 1983, BU seeks its first wins over Dartmouth and Syrcause in the V8 since 2019. Competing against Wisconsin in the Jablonic Cup for 40 years, BU has captured seven of the last eight races in the series, including the previous installment in 2022.
Following the weekend, the Terriers are idle until Sunday (May 19), when they return to Lake Quinsigamond for the Eastern Sprints.
