Returning for a 16th year, the Terrier Twelve recognizes the top achievements of Boston University teams and student-athletes from the previous year. In 2023-24, over half of BU's teams either won a conference title or finished runner-up at their league championship, and all of those programs will be represented in the countdown. Check back each Tuesday and Friday this summer as we unveil this year's Terrier Twelve onÂ
GoTerriers.com.
Â
Coming in at number 7 in this year's Terrier Twelve is the impressive performance of the BU student-athlete body in the classroom, as the department set a new record with a 3.42 grade-point average for the 2023-24 school year.
Â
All 24 varsity programs earned a GPA of 3.0 or above and it marked the first time that BU Athletics has been over a 3.4 in both semesters of anÂ
academic year.Â
Â
The Terriers had a conference-best seven Patriot League Scholar-Athletes of the Year, which was the highest total in department history.Â
Â
Sophomore Vera Sjoberg was earned the honor in both women's cross country and women's indoor track & field while Quinn Matulis of men's soccer, Freddy Collins of men's indoor track & field, Kaitlin Tan of women's tennis, Anna Dechantstreiter of women's rowing and Stuart Bladon of men's outdoor track & field were the recipients in their respective sports.
Â
In addition, Dechantstreiter, Matthew Boberg and Eitan Rosen of men's soccer, Miles Brewster of men's basketball, Alanna Hoffman of women's lightweight rowing and Abigial McNulty of women's soccer were all Scarlet Key recipients for the Class of 2024.
