
Men's Ice Hockey Ranked Third in USCHO Preseason Poll

BOSTON - The Boston University men's ice hockey team was ranked third in the USCHO.com preseason poll that came out on Monday.
BU, a Frozen Four participant in each of the last two seasons, earned 869 points in the poll. Reigning national champion Denver earned 42 first-place votes en route to claiming the top spot with 988 points while Boston College collected six first-place votes to finish second. BU and BC are two of six Hockey East schools that will start the season in the top 20, with four additional league opponents receiving at least one vote.
The Terriers will play at least six games against teams ranked in the preseason top-10, including two home games against No. 7 Michigan on Nov. 1-2. Those two tilts will come on the heels of a weekend series at No. 5 North Dakota on Oct. 25-26. The Battle of Comm Ave against No. 2 BC is scheduled for Jan. 24-25, with the two rivals potentially meeting on the second Monday of the Beanpot on Feb. 10 at TD Garden. In total, the Terriers will play at least 16 games against schools featured in the preseason top 20 as well as an additional 11 games against teams that received at least one vote.
BU returns 16 letter winners from last year's squad, including Hockey East All-Stars Tom Willander and Mathieu Caron. BU went 28-10-2 in head coach Jay Pandolfo's second year at the helm, including nine wins against top-10 opponents.
The Terriers will begin their 2024-25 campaign on Saturday, Oct. 5, when BU hosts Holy Cross at Agganis Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. Fans can purchase tickets
