Sophie Wyman Bornhoft (Questrom'15) - Women's Tennis

- Member of two Patriot League title teams (2014, 2015) and served as a co-captain her senior year
- Part of the Bloom Family Leadership Academy's inaugural class and was a member of Student-Athlete Advisory Council
- Currently serves as the director of client & business development at Alvarez & Marsal and spent four years at PwC in client strategy
Q&A With Sophie
- Why did you choose to attend BU? "I had always dreamt of going to college in Boston and was looking for the perfect mix of great academics and a strong tennis program. Once I got on campus and met Lesley and the team, it was game over!"
- What did you enjoy most about your BU experience? "What a question! It sounds like I'm giving an easy answer, but truly all of it. I would go back and do the same four years all over again! The friendships I made, the classes I took, living in the best city, it was all fantastic!"
- How did your time at BU prepare you to get to where you are today? "BU is such a large, diverse university and I really feel that my Questrom classes mixed with the experience of being on the tennis team really prepared me well to work with groups of diverse individuals in the workplace. A large part of my career has been focused on relationship building and building trust with stakeholders and working on diverse teams really helped me understand differing points of view and build skills to bring people together. As a student athlete, juggling and prioritizing responsibilities becomes second nature and those skills are really invaluable in the workplace, especially at fast-paced consulting firms."
- Why is it meaningful for you to be involved with the University, Athletics, and Women's Tennis as an alumnus? "BU gave so much to me as a student athlete and I really try to do my part to give back to the team and other student athletes. We're all Terriers and I love helping student athletes navigate the transition to life after college."
