NORTH ALLSTON, Mass. – The Boston University women's tennis team (6-9, 4-0 PL) swept Holy Cross, 4-0, on Sunday at the Harvard Murr Center. The Terriers quickly won the doubles point and the bottom three singles matches to secure the victory.
In doubles, BU got to work quickly with seniors Rhea Rai and Madison Liu winning 6-0 at the No. 3 spot. The Terriers clinched the doubles point with a 6-1 win at line two thanks to junior Blanka DeMicheli and sophomore Madison Liu, sending the Terriers into singles with a 1-0 lead in the match.
The Terriers continued their efficiency in singles. Rai earned BU's first point when she blanked her Holy Cross foe 6-0, 6-0 on Court 5 to give BU its second point of the day. Zhao was next to finish, also blanking her opponent 6-0, 6-0, bringing BU's lead in the match to 3-0. Freshman Lauren Kettlewell sealed the deal for the Terriers with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at the No. 4 spot to clinch the match, 4-0, and complete BU's undefeated weekend.
BU wraps up the regular season two weekends from now with two matches on the road, the first of which coming against Lehigh on Saturday, April 11. First serve is set for 11 a.m.
