Terrier Twelve - #11: Women’s Tennis Returns to Patriot League Title Match
July 2, 2026 | Women's Tennis
Returning for an 18th year, the Terrier Twelve recognizes the top achievements of Boston University teams and student-athletes from the previous year. Check back each Monday and Thursday this summer as we unveil this year's Terrier Twelve on GoTerriers.com.
Coming in at eleventh in this year's Terrier Twelve is women's tennis, highlighted by its seventh consecutive trip to the Patriot League title match.
The Terriers went undefeated in Patriot League play through the regular season and entered the league tournament as the No. 1 seed. Sophomore Gabriella Mikaul led BU's efforts in league play at the top of the lineup, going undefeated in both singles and doubles to earn her first-ever Patriot League Player of the Year Award.
Mikaul built her spring off a stellar fall as she reached the quarterfinals at the ITA New England Regionals. Her performance helped her qualify for the ITA East Sectional Championships, making her the first Terrier and first Patriot League athlete to reach that tournament since its start in 2024.
BU received three All-Patriot League selections with Mikaul making the first team and sophomore Madison Liu and junior Nancy Liu making the second team. Mikaul also made the Academic All-Patriot League team to cap the league awards for the season.
The Terriers finished ranked ninth in the New England region. Mikaul was ranked No. 6 in singles and N. Liu was ranked No. 11, while the pair were dubbed No. 20 in the region in doubles.
