Women’s Basketball Wraps Road Stretch at American on Wednesday

BOSTON – The Boston University women's basketball program concludes its two-game road swing on Wednesday (Jan. 8) at American. Opening tip is set for 11:30 a.m.
 
BU (6-7, 0-2 PL) looks to avoid its first 0-3 start to Patriot League play since 2015-16. The Terriers have only lost three straight conference matchups once since the 2021-22 season began, taking place a season ago.
 
American (0-13, 0-2 PL) seeks its first win on the year. To this point, the Eagles have lost six home games with an average margin of defeat of 13.5 points.
 
Wednesday's game airs on ESPN+. American will supply live statistics while the Patriot League provides an international stream.
 
TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU is coming off a 69-59 loss to Army West Point in its Patriot League road opener back on Jan. 5.
  • The Terriers trailed by as many as 29 points in the third quarter before pulling within 10 in the final minutes.
  • Senior Alex Giannaros led BU with 13 points, draining three of her five three-point attempts.
  • Five different Terriers scored at least seven points, while nine different Terriers found the bottom of the well.
  • Giannaros and sophomore Audrey Ericksen have combined for 11 of BU's 12 threes in its first two league games this season.

SERIES HISTORY

  • BU is just 1-13 on American's home court, with the lone victory taking place on Feb. 8, 2023.
  • Each team won their home game in the season series back in 2023-24. The Eagles were victorious in double overtime, 91-87, in the last matchup at Bender Arena, while BU notched a 58-56 win a month later.
