
Terriers Fall Short at Maine, 3-1

ORONO, Maine – The Boston University women's ice hockey team (1-8-0, 1-3-0 HE) dropped a 3-1 result to Maine (3-6-1, 1-1-1 HE) on Friday evening at Alfond Arena.
Maine opened the scoring just five seconds into the game and held a 1-0 lead until early in the second. The Terriers scored a short-handed goal 1:06 into the middle frame to tie things up, 1-1. That tie held until midway through the third, when the Black Bears scored their second goal moments after a penalty kill. Maine scored again during a 5-on-3 advantage to build to a 3-1 lead which would hold as the final score.
Junior Neely Nicholson scored BU's lone goal, unassisted. It was her first of the season.

- Nicholson won the puck at the BU blue line and raced down the slot to score, shorthanded, tying the game 1-1 at 1:06 in the second.
