HOW IT HAPPENED
- Sophomore Hildur Gunnsteinsdóttir scored the game's first bucket, but UAlbany responded with a 10-0 run over the next three-and-a-half minutes.
- Schwertner scored BU's next four points and senior Anastasiia Semenova made a layup, but Lara Langermann's nostalgic three-point play and a free throw from Stewart handed the home side a 22-8 lead after one quarter.
- UAlbany then scored the first eight points in the second quarter for its largest lead of the day, 30-8.
- Williams halted the burst with a straightaway three to score 11 consecutive points. Schwertner then converted and and-1 opportunity to bring BU within single digits at halftime, 30-22.
- Semenova's jumper at the foul line stretched the extended run to 16 straight Terrier points for a 30-24 contest in the third quarter's opening possession. However, Hill's three and Falcao's bucket replenished the double-digit lead for the Great Danes.
- Freshman Kate Allard snagged two offensive rebounds to extend a Terrier possession as sophomore Rose Azmoudeh found Semenova on the left block for a layup to cut the gap to 37-29 with 2:59 to play in the third.
- However, UAlbany ended the stanza on a 10-0 spurt to lead 47-29 after three quarters.
- BU got as close as 14 points the rest of the way on layups from Semenova and Schwertner, the latter making it 51-37 with 7:33 to play. The Terriers did not make another field goal until Williams converted with under three minutes left.
- BU made just under 35 percent of its shots and was just 3-for-19 from deep. UAlbany shot 41.8 percent for the game.
- Both teams grabbed 32 rebounds. Semenova led the Terriers with eight to pair with eight points.
- McLaughlin dished out five assists along with seven points.
- Each team also scored 24 points in the paint.
- The Terriers tied their season high with five blocks. Semenova provided three rejections.
- Schwertner has scored 31 points in her last three games after scoring 32 in her previous seven matchups.
- Williams dropped 14 points in her nine appearances prior to Saturday. She also set personal bests in minutes, field goals and three-pointers.
- BU's leading scorer, senior Anete Adler, did not play.
- The all-time series now stands at 20-11 in the Terriers' favor.
- BU wraps up non-conference play at home with a matchup against UMaine Fort Kent on Saturday (Dec. 20). Opening tip is slated for noon.
