Tamara Giaquinto (Questrom'24, SHA'25) - Women's Ice Hockey
December 8, 2025 | General, Women's Ice Hockey
- 2024-25 Hockey East Defender of the Year and two-time Hockey East All-Academic Team member
- Captained the Terriers to their first Hockey East title in 10 years
- Earned a business administration & management degree from Questrom before adding a master's in hospitality real estate
- Drafted by the PWHL's Montréal Victoire and earned a spot on the 2025-26 roster
- Why did you choose to attend BU? "I chose BU because it offered the perfect combination of elite academics and competitive athletics. From the moment I stepped on campus, I felt an immediate connection, not just with the school, but with the team. The culture was welcoming, the standard was high, and I knew it was a place where I could grow into the best version of myself. Boston's energy and BU's incredible reputation sealed the deal - I could truly picture myself thriving here both on and off the ice."
- What did you enjoy most about your BU experience? "What I enjoyed most was being part of a team that felt like family. The relationships I built with my teammates, coaches, and the broader BU community will last a lifetime. Being surrounded by people who pushed me, supported me, and celebrated every moment made the experience so special. Winning the Hockey East championship with my best friends will always be one of my most cherished memories."
- How did your time at BU prepare you to get to where you are today? "At BU, I earned my undergraduate degree from the Questrom School of Business with a concentration in real estate, followed by a Master of Science in Hospitality Real Estate from SHA. These programs gave me the foundation to pursue my passion for real estate and opened countless doors for my future. Recently, I was drafted to the Montreal Victoire and am fortunate enough to continue playing the sport I love — thanks to the incredible BU women's hockey program. The guidance of my coaches, the dedication of the staff, and the competitive environment created by my teammates helped me grow into the best hockey player I could be. More than anything, BU helped shape me not just academically or athletically, but personally. I found out who I was during my time here, and I'll always be grateful for that."
- Why is it meaningful for you to be involved with the University, Athletics, and Women's Hockey as an alumna? "Being part of BU Women's Hockey changed my life, and I'll always be proud to represent this program. Staying involved is my way of giving back to the community that gave me so much. I want to help ensure future student-athletes have the same incredible experience I did. Once a Terrier, always a Terrier!!!"
