Men’s Rowing Heads to Worcester to Face Temple, Holy Cross

BOSTON – Traveling for the first time this spring, the Boston University men's rowing program makes its way to Lake Quinsigamond on Saturday, April 19 to race against Temple and Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass.
BU will have three more events before the IRA National Championship Regatta at the end of May. Two of the next three events take place on Lake Quinsigamond, with the other at Lake Morey in Fairlee, Vt.

- 11:10 a.m. – Varsity 8+
- 11:20 a.m. – Second Varsity 8+
- 11:30 a.m. – Third Varsity 8+
- BU and Dartmouth clashed on the Charles River back on April 12.
- Amidst stormy conditions with a high chop, the Big Green was victorious in the three races while retaining the Bill Cup in the Varsity 8+.
- The Terrier Varsity 8+ remained in 12th in this week's iteration of the IRCA/IRA Varsity 8+ poll.
- BU is one spot behind Northeastern and is six points ahead of Georgetown and Wisconsin. The Terriers will face the Badgers at the Lake Morey Invite next week.
- Temple improved one spot from last week and is now 17th.
- Holy Cross is up to 18th in the poll after starting at 21st in the preseason poll.
- Holy Cross most recently participated in the Schuylkill Invitational near Philadelphia, Pa. Its top two crews were second in the second flights, with the V8 finishing two second behind Georgetown with a time of 5:19.93.
- The Crusaders previously rowed on the Charles River on March 29 against MIT, with the V8 winning in 5:55.9 for a nearly 20-second difference.
- Temple also competed in the Schuylkill Invitational, where its V8 earned the win in the afternoon session over Hobart and No. 24 Gonzaga.
- Throughout March, the Owls raced Princeton, Georgetown, La Salle, Rutgers and Virginia in exhibitions.
- BU will take part in the Lake Morey Invite from April 26-27.
- The Terriers will face four top-20 programs with three cups on the line: Wisconsin (Jablonic Cup), Columbia (Lusins Cup) and Syracuse (Conlan Cup). BU will also race Georgetown.
