Coming in at number 11 in this year's Terrier 12 is men's soccer repeating as Patriot League regular season champions for the first time with both juniors
Quin DeLaMater and
Diego Rived claiming major year-end honors from the conference.
Led by head coach
Kevin Nylen, BU started the year shutting out No. 9 New Hampshire in a scoreless draw and went on to finish the regular season on a seven-game unbeaten streak, highlighted by 1-0 victories against Bucknell, Colgate and Navy. With 16 points off a 4-1-4 conference record, the Terriers earned back-to-back regular season titles for the first time since accomplishing the feat in 2010-11 as a member of the America East.Â
Besides anchoring a backline that totaled four shutouts, DeLaMater finished atop the team with nine points off three goals and three assists to earn BU's third straight PL Defensive Player of the Year award. He earned his first career goal in the second game at Northeastern and later netted his first game winner at Navy.
Besides helping direct traffic, Rived also recorded three assists alongside a goal scored to earn BU's first Midfielder of the Year award from a conference since 2008. He finished with five points total after recording two assists as a freshman back in 2022.Â
Sophomore forward
Andrea Di Blasio also had a standout season, tying DeLaMater at nine points, to join the two major award winners in earning All-PL First Team recognition. He recorded a brace in a 3-2 victory over Army West Point and later netted game winners against Bucknell and Colgate.
Overcoming injury, junior defender
John Roman added All-PL Second Team honors for his efforts on the field. Other key contributors included graduate student
Aidan Bone (4g), junior
