The Boston University field hockey team kicks off a four-game homestand on Friday when it welcomes Quinnipiac to New Balance Field. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- Six of BU's first seven games of the season are at home.
- The lone road game in the stretch took place on Sunday with the Terriers dropping a 4-0 contest to No. 14 Massachusetts.
- Freshmen Rachel Turer and Molly Driscoll, junior Nicole Lauro and senior Martu Coulo have each scored a goal this season.
- BU opened its season on Aug. 29 with a 3-2 loss to Providence in a game that was decided by a shootout before falling in overtime, 3-2, to Vermont a week later.
- Coulo and Lauro both earned spots on the Preseason All-Patriot League Team.
- Sophomore Abbey Chun made seven saves versus Providence in her collegiate debut before adding five more against the Catamounts.
- Junior Sophie Ortyl recorded six saves against the Minutewomen on Sunday.
- Senior Natalie Epperson is the leading returner in points (8) and goals (4) while classmate Megan Wetzel had a team-best seven assists last season.
- Coulo, Lauro and juniors Maggie Driscoll and Olivia Hammer were all named to the NFHCA Division I Watchlist.
- Seniors Maddie Hudson and Celia Nocivelli are serving as co-captains this season.
- Sally Starr is in her 45th season as head coach of the Terriers.
SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
- Quinnipiac is off to a 3-1 start, most recently earning a 5-0 shutout win over Stonehill in a neutral-site contest at Maine last Saturday.
- The Bobcats opened the year with wins over Holy Cross (2-1) and Bucknell (2-0) before falling in overtime to Maine by a score of 2-1.
- Sophomore Francisca Eschoyez leads the team in points (9) and goals (3) while freshman Rozemarijn Van Keulen has added seven points on two goals and three assists.
- Eschoyez was selected to the Preseason All-Big East Team and the Bobcats were picked seventh in the preseason' coaches poll.
- Senior Cristina Torres is in her fourth year as the Bobcats' primary starter in goal and currently has a 0.77 goals-against average and an .864 save percentage.
SERIES HISTORY VS. QUINNIPIAC
- This is just the fourth meeting between BU and Quinnipiac and the first since 2007.
- The Terriers are a perfect 3-0 against the Bobcats.
