BOSTON – Fresh off its first Patriot League victory in the 2025-26 season, the Boston University women's basketball program hosts Loyola Maryland on Saturday (Jan. 17). Opening tip from Case Gym is set for 2 p.m.

BU (5-11, 1-4 PL) plays its third conference home game this season and seeks its first Division I win at The Roof since Nov. 22. The Terriers are shooting nearly 45 percent from the field at Case Gym compared to just 38 percent for opponents.

Loyola Maryland (7-9, 3-2 PL) aims for its second winning streak of at least three games on the year. The Greyhounds have won four of their last five road contests.

Saturday's game airs on ESPN+ with Brian Maurer (COM'07), Jack Hughes and Claire Chen on the call. Live statistics and an audio-only broadcast are available on GoTerriers.com while the Patriot League provides an international stream.

The program is hosting its annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day celebration on Saturday. Autographs with the team and a shootaround take place after the game for fans. Scrunchies are available for fans at the marketing table as well.

TERRIER TIDBITS

BU snapped its four-game losing streak with a 68-64 win at Lehigh on Jan. 14.
The Terriers executed a 21-point second quarter on 83.3 percent shooting to hand the Mountain Hawks their first conference loss.
Senior Anastasiia Semenova scored a season- and game-high 18 points, making nine shots.
Classmate Anete Adler and junior Inés Monteagudo Pardo each collected 15 points, the latter on five three-pointers with five assists.
Six different Terriers have led the team in scoring this season. Adler is the lone Terrier with more than three games as BU's top scorer with nine.
With Wednesday's win, the Terriers have beaten the defending Patriot League champion in the regular season at least once for four straight seasons.
During conference play, BU ranks first across the Patriot League in field goal percentage (.474), fewest opponent rebounds per game (27.2), rebounding margin (+9.2) and blocks per game (4.2).
The Terriers also rank second with in that span with 15.6 assists per game and third with a .347 three-point percentage, 36.4 rebounds per game and an opponent .389 field goal percentage.
Junior Aoibhe Gormley is seven assists away from 200 in her career and eight steals from 100.
BU vies for its second winning streak of the season, previous winning two in a row at Northeastern and New Haven from Nov. 11-15.

SCOUTING LOYOLA MARYLAND

The Greyhounds have posted back-to-back wins over Bucknell and Colgate, allowing 93 total points in both games.
Lex Therien has rebounded from a season-ending injury a year ago to average team-highs of 16.8 points and 8.9 boards per game.
Loyola was projected to finished third in the Patriot League preseason poll, garnering a conference-best three first-place votes.
Decimated by injuries in 2024-25, the Greyhounds finished 9-21 with a 3-15 Patriot League record after being named the preseason favorite.

SERIES HISTORY

Wednesday marks the 26th all-time meeting between BU and Loyola Maryland in a series that began when the programs joined the Patriot League for the 2013-14 season.
The Terriers sport a 17-8 edge in the rivalry, winning 10 of the last 12 matchups.
At home, BU is 10-4.
Both teams earned road wins in the regular season contests last year, with the Greyhounds winning 72-68 in Boston on Feb. 1 and BU earning a 55-38 decision in Baltimore on Feb. 19.
BU and Loyola met in the opening round of the Patriot League Tournament, where the Terriers triumphed, 75-51.
Allison Schwertner averaged 10.3 points and 8.0 rebounds per game on 57.9 shooting vs. Loyola Maryland.
