Jay O'Brien (COM'23) - Men's Ice Hockey

- Assistant captain for the 2022-23 Hockey East championship team
- Tallied 32 points (8g, 24a) as a senior to help lead BU to the Frozen Four
- Graduated from the College of Communication with a degree in public relations
- Currently serves as a financial advisor for The Fahey/O'Brien Group
- Why did you choose to attend BU? "Growing up outside of Boston in Hingham, I had always admired BU's academic and athletic reputation. I also knew several people who attended BU and had nothing but great things to say about their experience."
- What did you enjoy most about your BU experience? "It was the people and the culture that made my experience at BU so special. Whether it was professors, coaches, administrators, teammates, or friends - everyone cared about each other and the university."
- How did your time at BU prepare you to get to where you are today? "With the demands of academics and playing hockey at BU, it created discipline, structure, and accountability to my daily life. BU helped me set the foundation and instill these important traits that I carry forward today."
- Why is it meaningful for you to be involved with the University, Athletics, and Men's Hockey as an alumnus? "I am proud to be part of the BU alumni, and I want to see the university and the Terrier Hockey program continue to thrive for generations to come. I will always be grateful for my time at BU and take great pride in giving back."
