Terriers Drop 4-2 Result to Boston College

WEYMOUTH, Mass. – The Boston University women's tennis team (3-4, 1-0 PL) battled in a close match with Boston College before falling, 4-2.
The Eagles took the doubles point, but not without a fight from BU. The Terriers won 10 combined games with seniors Emily Zhao and Rhea Rai winning five at line three before the match went unfinished.
In singles, BC went up 2-0 with a win at the top of the lineup. Junior Ellie Gyuro was next to finish at line three, winning 6-1, 6-4 to claim BU's first point of the match. She was backed by sophomore Gabriella Mikaul who finished next, winning 6-1, 6-4 at the No. 2 spot.
Zhao battled at line six, forcing a third set after winning the second set, 6-2, but ultimately fell in the third set as BC went ahead 3-2. Freshman Vasilisa Borisova fought at line four in the third set, but dropped a 1-6, 6-2, 7-5 decision as BC claimed the 4-2 win. Sophomore Madison Liu's match went unfinished at line five, in which she trailed 0-6, 7-6, 1-4.
The Terriers continue the weekend with a match against UMass at the Winchester Tennis Club. First serve is set for 3 p.m.
