No. 12 Men’s Rowing Treks to Cornell on Saturday

BOSTON – Wrapping up its dual racing for the spring slate, the No. 12 Boston University men's rowing program heads to No. 13 Cornell on Saturday (April 11). The first race is slated for 1:30 p.m. as the Terriers will race five crews.

- 1:30 p.m. – Fourth & Fifth Varsity 8
- 1:45 p.m. – Third Varsity 8
- 2:00 p.m. – Second Varsity 8
- 2:15 p.m. – Varsity 8
- BU and No. 8 Northeastern clashed on the Charles River last Saturday (April 4).
- The battle for the Arlett Cup came down to a photo finish, where the Huskies reclaimed the trophy by just .523 seconds.
- Northeastern won three races while the Terriers were victorious in the Fourth Varsity 8.
- The IRC/IRA Division I/II Varsity 8+ Poll was released on Wednesday (April 8) for the opening week of racing.
- BU was ranked 12th, jumping two spots from their preseason position.
- The Terriers will face Dartmouth (sixth), Syracuse (ninth), Wisconsin (14th), Columbia (19th) and Georgetown (23rd) later this year.
- BU has already faced Northeastern (eighth) and Navy (15th).
- The Big Red have dueled No. 16 Drexel and No. 3 Harvard this spring.
- Cornell's Varsity 8 defeated the Dragons by nearly five seconds on March 28.
- The following weekend, the Crimson swept all four races, including an 11.4-second margin in the Varsity 8.
- Saturday marks the first dual race between BU and Cornell in Head Coach Thomas Bohrer's 18-year tenure.
- Assistant coach Michael Colella rowed at Cornell as an undergraduate, serving as Commodore as a senior before earning his degree in 2016.
- BU is idle until the Lake Morey Invite, which takes place in Vermont from April 25-26.
- The Terriers will face Dartmouth, Syracuse, Wisconsin, Columbia and Georgetown in the regatta.
