Women’s Rowing Travels to Race No. 9 Brown, Columbia Sunday

BOSTON – The Boston University women's rowing program heads to Leonia, N.J., to take on No. 9 Brown and Columbia on Sunday. The first race of the day at Overpeck Park is scheduled for 11:15 a.m.

- 11:15 a.m. – Second Varsity 4

BU VS. BROWN
- BU last saw Brown at the 2025 Eastern Sprints in five separate races.
- The Terriers competed against the Bears in the heats of the Varsity 8, Second Varsity 8 and Third Varsity 8 and in the Grand Finals of the Varsity 4 and Second Varsity 4.
SCOUTING BROWN
- The Bears recently competed against then-No. 23 Dartmouth on April 4, taking first in all five races.
- Brown's largest margin of victory on the day came in the Second Varsity 8 race, which it won by 14.9 seconds.
- The Bears will also race in the Ivy Invitational the day before the races against BU.
BU VS. COLUMBIA
- BU last saw Columbia at the Eastern Sprints in four races.
- The Terriers raced against the Lions in the heats for the Varsity 8 and Second Varsity 8 as well as the Grand Finals of the Varsity 4 and Second Varsity 4.
- In each of the races, BU finished just one spot behind Columbia.
SCOUTING COLUMBIA
- Columbia opened its season with races against Notre Dame and Navy at Overpeck Park in Leonia, N.J., last weekend.
- The Lions took first in all five of its races.
- Columbia, on average, finished 21.2 seconds ahead of Patriot League member Navy in each of the five races.
- The Lions will also race in the Ivy Invitational the day before the races against BU.
LAST TIME OUT
- BU faced Northeastern on the Charles River last Saturday, racing in the Varsity 8, Second Varsity 8, Third Varsity 8, Varsity 4 and Second Varsity 4.
- The Terriers won the Council Cup for the first time in three years when the Varsity 8 finished ahead of the Huskies with a time of 6:37.441.
- BU topped Northeastern in all but one race, dominating the day's competition.
THE SCHEDULE
- The Terriers have six race days on their schedule, featuring three days of head-to-head competition and two postseason regattas.
- BU will have one more weekend of head-to-head racing against Rhode Island and Delaware before turning its attention to Eastern Sprints and the Patriot League Championship.
- The Terriers have raced Cornell, George Washington, Colgate and Northeastern so far this season.
- BU will look to three-peat in the Patriot League Championship on May 15 to try and qualify for the NCAA Championships.
LOOKING AHEAD
- Following this weekend, BU will race in Rhode Island and Delaware on Sat., April 25, in Worcester, Mass.
