Men’s Rowing Set For Lake Morey Invite in Vermont This Weekend

BOSTON – Returning to the water for the first time in two weeks, the No. 12 Boston University men's rowing program prepares for its annual visit to the Lake Morey Invite this weekend, starting on Saturday (April 25).
BU is set for cup races against five programs ranked in the top 20 in the most recently released IRCA/IRA Varsity 8+ Poll. The Terriers join a field featuring Columbia, Syracuse, Dartmouth, Wisconsin and Georgetown.
The first race each day is set for 8 a.m. Saturday features a morning and afternoon session on Lake Morey in Fairlee, Vt. Results will be available on row2k at the end of each day.

- 8:15 a.m. – Fourth Varsity 8 vs. Columbia
- 9 a.m. – Third Varsity 8 vs. Columbia
- 9:45 a.m. – Second Varsity 8 vs. Columbia
- 10:30 a.m. – Varsity 8 vs. Columbia
- 3 p.m. – Fourth Varsity 8 vs. Syracuse
- 3:45 p.m. – Third Varsity 8 vs. Syracuse
- 4:30 p.m. – Second Varsity 8 vs. Syracuse
- 5:15 p.m. – Varsity 8 vs. Syracuse
- 5:45 p.m. – Fifth Varsity 4s vs. Dartmouth
- 8 a.m. – Fifth Varsity 8 vs. Dartmouth
- 8:30 a.m. – Fourth Varsity 8 vs. Dartmouth
- 9:15 a.m. – Third Varsity 8 vs. Dartmouth
- 10 a.m. – Second Varsity 8 vs. Dartmouth
- 10:45 a.m. – Varsity 8 vs. Dartmouth
- BU and Cornell clashed on Fish Creek in Saratoga, N.Y. back on April 11.
- The Varsity 8 dispatched the No. 13 Big Red with a time of 5:56.980, nearly six seconds in front.
- BU's Fourth Varsity 8 also picked up a victory, finishing over seven seconds ahead of Cornell.
- Week 3 of the IRCA/IRA Men's Division I/II Poll listed the top 25 for all championship crews and the preliminary Ten Eyck Team Points total on Wednesday (April 22).
- BU has 152 points in the Ten Eyck, good for 12th in the nation.
- That is also where the Terrier Varsity 8 and Third Varsity 8 rank, slotting ahead of Cornell, Wisconsin and Navy.
- The Second Varsity 8 is 13th in the country.
- Dartmouth's Varsity 8 has the highest ranking among the participating schools at seventh.
- Syracuse is ninth, three spots in front of BU.
- Wisconsin is two spots behind the Terriers at 14th.
- Columbia is 17th while Georgetown is 19th.
- In the 2025 Lake Morey Invite, BU and Columbia reintroduced the Lusins Cup as BU captured the 7.3-second win in 5:47.3 on April 26.
- Wisconsin and Syracuse retained the Jablonic and Conlan Cups, respectively.
- BU's Second Varsity 8 defeated Wisconsin and Columbia while the Third Varsity 8 triumphed over the Badgers and Georgetown.
- After returning from Vermont, BU takes part in the Eastern Sprints on Sunday (May 17) at Lake Quinsigamond.
